The unknowns turned out to be the touchscreen, cameras, and accelerometer. The audio device suddenly is missing from the system. One by one I manually updated the driver by pointing the updater to the folder containing the drivers that are available from RCA for the Bluetooth, wireless, touch screen, accelerometer, and cameras. After resetting, my sound button has a red x mark on it saying that 'No audio output device is installed'. Everything went fine but then I decided to reset the laptop to have a fresh start. You briefly see a window animation, but that's it. I have upgraded my laptop Asus k43s from windows 7 to windows 10. After installing the browsers, they close after 20 seconds or so. It has three profiles: my son's, my wife's, and mine. I then had 5 unknown devices in Device Manager. This is a fresh install of Windows 11 on a new PC. Then I installed the Intel driver package for the Atom Z3700 series CPU and chipset. I wiped the drive and installed the latest Windows 10. No sound devices were found and no drivers could be made to work. The problem did not come from the actual Windows 10 update. I had the same problem after installing optional driver updates from Windows update.
